The Arab American University and the Istishari Hospital in Amman Sign a Cooperation Agreement to Train Medical Students

As part of its constant efforts to develop the field of medical education, enhance health care, and prepare and qualify medical personnel, the Arab American University and the Istishari Hospital in Amman / Jordan signed a cooperation agreement. This agreement aimed at training medical students enrolled at AAUP on its Ramallah and Jenin campuses. This is for the sake of improving the provision of therapeutic and preventive medical services and preparing as well as qualifying medical staffs.

The Arab American University was represented by the Vice President for the Ramallah Campus, Professor Mohammad Asia, and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Malik Zaben, while the Istishari Hospital was represented by the General Director, Dr. Tariq Al Lawzi, and the Medical Director, Dr. Mahmoud Abu Obeila.

The AAUP Faculty of Medicine Announces Launching Preparations for the Second Summer Session at the Universities of Oxford and Dundee in Britain

The Faculty of Medicine at the Arab American University has announced the launch of preparations for the second summer session at the Universities of Oxford and Dundee in the United Kingdom.

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Malik Zaben, explained that the academic and administrative staffs receive applications from students interested in the course and nominate a number of them to participate through a specialized academic committee and within international standards. Forty five male and female students have been selected to attend this course in Britain.

The Arab American University and Hclinic Specialty Hospital Sign a Cooperation Agreement to Train Medical Students

The Arab American University and the Hclinic Specialty Hospital signed a joint cooperation agreement to train students of the Faculty of Medicine enrolled at the University on its Ramallah and Jenin campuses. The University was represented by the Vice President of the Ramallah Campus, Professor Mohammad Asia, and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Malik Zaben, while the hospital was represented by its Medical Director, Dr. Jihad Mishal, and the Director of Personnel Affairs, Hadeel Sawafta.

The terms of the agreement revolve around providing a high level of training to medical students in the clinical stage and before by the most skilled specialist doctors at Hclinic Specialty Hospital in the departments of internal medicine, general surgery, pediatrics, gynecology, obstetrics, and specialized departments of orthopedics, neurology, cardiology, emergency, anesthesia, and diagnostic radiology.

The AAUP Department of Optometry Obtains the World Council of Optometry (WCO) Membership

The Arab American University has recently obtained membership in the World Council of Optometry (WCO) in an important step towards strengthening its global presence and contribution to the field of optometry.

This achievement reflects the University’s continued commitment to promoting active participation in developing skills and standards of education and scientific research for the optometry profession at the local and international levels. This membership also represents international recognition that reflects the quality of the University’s educational and research programs.

The Arab American University Congratulates Dr. Samah Abu Aoun Hamad, a Member of the University’s Board of Trustees, on Appointment as Minister of Social Development

The Arab American University family, represented by the Founding Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Yousef Asfour, the members of the Board of Directors, the Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, Dr. Magdi Al-Khaldi, the members of the Board of Trustees, the President of the University, Professor Dr. Ali Zedan Abu Zuhri, the University’s Council of Deans, members of the academic and administrative staff, and the University’s students pass warmest congratulations to Dr. Samah Abu Aoun Hamad on her appointment as Minister of Social Development.

Dr. Samah Abu Aoun obtained the Ph.D.in Business Administration from the University of Northampton in Britain, where her research focused on technological entrepreneurship in the Middle East and North Africa and venture capitalists’ assessment of the human capital factors of startup companies. Dr. Abu Aoun obtained the Master’s degree in Business Administration from the British University of Liverpool, and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Technology in Baghdad.

The Arab American University Holds a Ramadan Iftar at the Nursing for Seniors Home Association in Jenin

The Arab American University has held a Ramadan Iftar banquet in honor of the Nursing for Seniors Home Association with the presence of Dr. Laila Herzallah, Assistant to AAUP President for Community Affairs, representing the University, Mr. Osama Al Silawi, Director of the Association, a number of members of the administrative staff, employees of the Association, as well as a number of volunteering students.

During the Iftar banquet, Dr. Herzallah praised the role of the association’s management, which she described as great, in caring for the hosted elderly people, noting the progress the association has achieved over its recent years despite the difficult circumstances that the governorate is going through. The Arab American University and the Palestinian Telecommunications Company Jawwal Sign a Memorandum of Understanding

The Arab American University, represented by Dr. Bara Asfour, Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and the Palestinian Telecommunications Company Jawwal, represented by Mr. Bahi Sawalha, Director of Human Resources Department, signed a memorandum of understanding for the sake of exchanging knowledge and experiences as well as providing training and employment opportunities for AAUP students.

The agreement was signed on the University campus in Ramallah with the presence of Professor Dr. Mohammad Asia, Vice President for the Ramallah Campus, Mr. Mohammad Sabaaneh, Director of the Student Affairs Department, Mr. Qais Obaid from the Student Affairs Department, and on behalf of the Palestinian Telecommunications Company, Jawwal, Mr. Alaa Hijazi, Head of the Business Support Department, and Mr. Thaer Abu Baker, Business Sector Manager.

Asal Technology Company Visits the Arab American University

A delegation from Assal Technology Company visited the Arab American University. The delegation had a meeting with the deans of the Faculties of Engineering and Information Technology, Professor Dr. Hazem Khanfar and Dr. Mohammad Marie, the heads of departments in the two faculties, and the general director of Hassib Sabbagh IT Center of Excellence, Engineer Mays Awad. The meeting aimed at consolidating relations between the two institutions, and finding a mechanism for developing the training of faculties’ students in Asal Company.

During the meeting, the parties discussed several topics related to practical training for students and the mechanism for developing these trainings. The two parties also presented several ideas and initiatives for the students and their development in the technological aspect, as a number of students from both faculties are training at Asal Technology Company within an agreement signed between the company and the University.

AAUP Graduate Students Participate in the Round Table Organized by the European Union Delegation to Support the Palestinian Police EUPOL COPPS

A group of female students from the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the Arab American University participated in the round table organized by the European Union delegation to support the Palestinian police, EUPOL COPPS, under the title “Inspiring Inclusion” on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

Hala Khreisat Haj Hassan, a student in the Ph.D. program in conflict resolution, Rasha Al Soqi, a student in the Ph.D. program in international relations, and Mimas Sulaiman, a student in the master’s program in international relations have participated in the event. This event focused on the role of women in institutional affairs and state building. The female students of AAUP participated in discussing this important topic from an academic and practical perspective.

الجامعة توقع مذكرة تفاهم مع جامعة Texas A&M في قطر لتعزيز فرص الطلاب في مجال الهندسة

Arab American University has signed a memorandum of understanding with Texas A&M University in Qatar with the aim of enhancing opportunities for students and faculty members in the field of engineering. The agreement was signed under the supervision of Dr. Lana Shehadeh, Director of International Relations at the University, Professor Dr. Hazem Khanfar, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and on behalf of Texas A&M University, Professor Haitham Abu Al Rub, Director of the university Smart Network Center.

This MOU includes an agreement to expand the student exchange program and international opportunities for students and faculty members at the Arab American University. It is expected that this cooperation will contribute to strengthening academic and cultural ties between the two universities as well as exchanging experiences in the field of engineering and technology.
