Alumni Affairs Organizes Introductory Workshop on "LinkedIn"

Alumni Affairs Department at the Arab American University Deanship of Student Affairs organized introductory workshop on the world’s first professional communication site LinkedIn. It was presented by the University President advisor for classification, Dr. Muath Sabha in presence of dozens of the university upcoming graduates.

At the meeting beginning, Bilal Al-Ashqar, Head of Alumni Affairs Department, welcomed Dr. Muath Sabha. Stressing on the importance of having an account on LinkedIn for those looking for work and the necessity of professional dealing with this important site, not only to seek work, but to develop skills and gain experience.

Dr. Muath Sabha explained that LinkedIn is the first professional site in which we can present our expertise professionally to others. He also advised the upcoming graduates to using it in their job hunting. Stressing, the opportunities will increase as we improve our ability to present our skills and experience on this professional network because many companies in the world advertise their jobs via LinkedIn exclusively.

On how to build an account on LinkedIn as it’s the most important tool to access labor market internationally and regionally, Dr. Sabha provided practical set of tips that will help build a strong account starting with a professional image, how to write the account holder title and goal, the summary including work experience and skills. Finishing with; documenting training courses, certificates and volunteering experiences.
