This course provides an overview of telecommunications and computer networking concepts, network design, and management concepts. In addition this course introduces networking topologies, layers (OSI & TCP/IP models), hardware (equipment) and software protocols, and TCP/IP related topics. Also, this course introduces basic technical and non-technical networking knowledge, which helps students to work in the computer-networking field. Because of the constant change in the computer networking technologies (hardware and software), modern networking and class related topics are discussed such as firewall, dematerialize (DMZ), virtual private network (VPN), and wireless network.
