151056110 GENE REGULATION MECHANISMS ( 3 Crd.Hrs )

The course will deal with the various levels of controlling gene activity at different levels including transcriptional, posttranscriptional and epigenetic control. This will include thorough discussions in prokaryotic and eukaryotic systems. The experimental approaches used in gene regulation investigations including in vitro and in vivo systems will constitute a primary objective of the course. The role of genes in developmental biology will also be discussed in the drosophila model and other related model systems.
