This course will cover the pathology of selected human diseasese at the molecular level including inborn errors of metabolism, hemoglobinopathies, bleeding disorders and structural protein abnormalities and neurogenetics. Diverse advesr celluar changes that are part of the disease mechanism saddress including toxic damage to cells, repair processes within cells, cell aging and mechanisms of cell death will beb discussed. The molecular and cellular changes that lead to diverse clinical features in inherited syndromes, cancer, multifactorial diseases, the role of trace elements in human biology and disease will also be addressed.
