Arab American University (located in Jenin and Ramallah) is searching for an experienced communicative candidate who is proactive and passionate about international relations, fundraising and international projects (especially American and European). We are seeking a strategic thinker who will work in conjunction with international higher education institutions, consulates, international executives and others.

The candidate for this position must have strong communication and organizational skills, and must demonstrate the ability to develop the International Relations Office and international projects for the University. The position may require international travel and flexibility (from the candidate) regarding working hours.

Responsibilities and Duties for the University

  • Launch projects and campaigns to publicize University news and events, draft information strategies, coordinate efforts, monitor and report progress, take appropriate follow-up actions, and analyze the outcome.
  • Produce communication materials with emphasis on audio-visual materials (thematic features, online content) related to international relations.
  • Act as a focal point on international issues, monitor and report on developments, respond to inquiries, etc.
  • Coordinate activities related to international projects, fundraising (project preparation and submission and progress reports), and liaise with appropriate service providers.
  • Establish and develop communications, activities, coordination, exchange programs, ties, partnerships, cooperation and projects with international institutions, entities and organizations, and enhance the existing ones.
  • Participate in meetings and conferences and deliver oral presentations to various audiences.
  • Perform other work related duties as required by the University.

Qualifications

The candidate must possess

  • A wide range of experience, skills and methodologies essential to planning, executing and monitoring the responsibilities and duties listed above.
  • Ability to produce a variety of communication materials in a clear and concise style.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (spoken and written) skills, including the ability to produce and compile a variety of communications products in a clear and concise style and the ability to disseminate information effectively.
  •  Ability to establish, develop and maintain effective international relations.
  • Potential for hard work and noticeable achievements.
  • Professional competence and mastery of subject matter.
  • Efficiency in meeting commitments and deadlines.
  • Diplomacy, persistence and patience when difficult problems/challenges or stressful situations are encountered.
  •  Ability to work under pressure and limited time constraints.

Education Requirements

A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in communications, international relations or another related field. For exceptional candidates, a Bachelor’s degree in similar fields may be accepted.

Work Experience

A minimum of five years of experience in a related field is required. Experience in project management and reporting, MOUs, and international project funding is desirable.

Languages

The candidate must be fluent in English. Knowledge of other languages is preferred.
