The University Hosts Friendly Basketball Game Between Jenin’s Team and Palestine’s Team Coming from Chicago

The Arab American University hosted “Palestine” basketball team from Chicago city, USA, which is part of the American-Palestinian union, who visited the university to check its sports facilities and have a friendly match with Jenin’s team.

The team was greeted by the Dean of the Faculty of Sports Dr. Jamal Bshara and the director of the university sports facilities Mr. Oday Daraghmeh. The visiting team toured the closed multi-purpose gym and the Arab American University international football stadium.

Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences Dr. Abu Bshara welcomed the guest team and gave them detailed description of the university, its academic programs, and its interest and support for Palestinian sports. Pointing, the university sports facilities hosted many local, regional and international games in all sports. He was pleased with the team’s visit to Palestine and to the university in particular.

While the director of sports facilities at the University Mr. Oday Daraghmeh said “The university is constantly seeking to host local and international sports teams and organize games in its sporting facilities. It has become a trend mark for sports delegations, confirming the development of the facilities infrastructure.” He added, AAUJ is the first in Palestine to have what it takes to host international sports games.

The Palestine guest team expressed its great admiration for the sports facilities at the Arab American University, noting that the development they witnessed is similar to Chicago city sports facilities. Expressing their happiness to visit Palestine, check its cities, organize friendly matches with its cities teams, and praised the university for its great sports advancement, which every Palestinian, both at home and in the diaspora, is proud of.

Then came the friendly basketball game between the guest team and Jenin’s team, it was intense between the two teams to end with 67 – 40 for the guest team.
