The Lecturer at the Arab American University, Mohammad Sabaaneh, Wins the Award for the Best Translated Book on the Palestinian Issue

Teacher of interior architecture, the creative artist, Mohammad Sabaaneh, won the award for the best translated book on the Palestinian issue. The book is entitled “The Power of the Birth of a Dream”.

The book was published in 2021 in the United States of America. It is now being translated into French. It includes scenes from the lives of Palestinians under occupation.

This achievement comes as part of the Palestine Book Award organized by the MIMO Foundation in the British capital, London.

A Student Delegation from the University of Louvain, Belgium, Visits AAUP

A student delegation from the University of Louvain, Belgium, visited the Arab American University to learn about the majors offered by the university in diploma, BA, MA, and PhD degrees.

They were received by Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Muayad Abusaa, Advisor of Board of Directors for Quality and Development Affairs, Dr. Adli Saleh, and Director of Public Relations at the University, Dr. Fadi Jumaa.

AAUP Participates in a Forum in the Spanish City of Granada

A delegation of PhD students in Conflict Resolution and academics from the Department of Social Sciences from the Arab American University participated in the "Strengthening National Research Capacities in the Field of Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation" forum, which was held in the Spanish city of Granada, as part of the Erasmus project funded by the European Union.

The developments of the concept of resolving the conflict and its repercussions on the Palestinian situation were discussed in the forum as well as the relationship between conflict and various aspects such as climate, women, human rights, water and natural resources, and others.

Representatives from different departments at the University of Granada and representatives from the German Friedrich Schiller University participated in the forum.

The Arab American University and the French University of Grenoble Conclude a Cooperation Agreement for Postgraduates

The Arab American University and the French University of Grenoble signed a memorandum of cooperation that allows postgraduates in Natural Sciences and Engineering programs to use the laboratories of University of Grenoble to prepare their theses for MA and PhD degrees. It also provides scientific visits for researchers from the university.

The memorandum was signed during a scientific visit by a delegation from the Arab American University to the French University of Grenoble. The delegation consisted of Dr. Adli Saleh, Advisor of Board of Directors for Planning and Development, Dr. Muayad Abusaa, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Amjad Rattroot, Coordinator of the PhD Program in Information Technology Engineering.

AAUP Participates in an International Scientific Cooperation in which a New Gene Related to Brain Development and Genetic Disorders in Humans is Discovered

The scientific work, published in the American Journal of Human Genetics, describes the clinical outcomes of seven patients from five different families, all with mutations in the gene called calmodulin-regulated spectrin-associated protein 1 (CAMSAP1) which causes this rare genetic disease. The genetic alterations in CAMSAP1 lead to abnormalities in neuronal structural proteins, which have an important role in regulating neuronal division and movement during brain development.

AAUP Concludes a Partnership Agreement in Media and Public Relations MA and PhD Programs with the Higher Institute of Journalism, Communication, and International Relations in Paris

The Arab American University and the Higher Institute of Journalism, Communication, and International Relations in Paris concluded a partnership agreement to offer MA and PhD programs in media and public relations at the university. The signing ceremony took place at the institute's headquarters in Paris.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the university by Board of Directors’ Academic Advisor, the Founding President of the University, Prof. Dr. Waleed Deeb, accompanied by Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Eng. Bara Asfour, and the Dean of the Faculty of Modern Media at the university, Dr. Hanadi Dwaikat. On behalf of the Higher Institute for Journalism, Communication, and International Relations, the agreement was signed by the president, Dr. Guillaume Joban Accompanied by his assistant, Dr. Noha Rishmawi.

A Delegation from Indiana University of Pennsylvania Visits the Arab American University and Tours its Faculties and Medical Centers

The Arab American University received a delegation from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, which is a partner in teaching the PhD and MA in Business Administration programs, who visited the university in order to discuss mechanisms for strengthening the existing partnership, and to tour the faculties of the University, its medical centers, and sports facilities.

The Indiana University of Pennsylvania delegation consisted of Dr. Lara Lochkins, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Prashant Bharadwaj, Dean of Faculty of Business Administration. Two AAUP Students Win in the Scientific Conference of Postgraduate Students 2022

The Arab American University won two awards at the Palestinian Scientific Conference of Postgraduates 2022, which was organized by the Islamic University of Gaza.

The MA student in "Contemporary Public Relations", Baraa Abed and her supervisor, Dr. Elias Kukali, won the best research award in the Humanities and Social Sciences field for her research paper entitled "Exploring the Causal Links Between Locus of Control and Functional Performance Among Public Relations Practitioners in the Government Service Sector: A Track Analysis.”

The study sought to measure the indirect effect of causal links, such as (financial incentives, powers granted by senior management, and the quality of the relationship with the leader) as intermediate variables between locus of control as an independent variable and job performance as a dependent variable for public relations practitioners in the government service sector.

AAUP Faculty of Medicine Receives a Delegation from the British Family Medicine Institute to Discuss Cooperation

A delegation from the British Family Medicine Institute visited the Faculty of Medicine at the Arab American University. The visit aims to discuss cooperation between the two parties and implement a group of medical programs.

The visiting delegation consisted of Paul Wallace, Thirsy Zink from the British Family Medicine Institute, and Maha Al-Khateeb, Director of Medical Aid Programs for the Palestinians. They were received by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Imad Dweikat, Deputy Dean, Dr. Omar Sadeq, Head of the Physiology and Pharmacology Department, Dr. Reham Nazzal, Head of the Department of Pathology and Pharmacology, Dr. Ramez Zaid, and Head of the Department of Anatomy and Embryology, Dr. Emad Abu Alrub.

Two Researchers from the University Discover a method to Diagnose Disorders and Skin Diseases Using Millimeter Wave Sensors

Two researchers from the Arab American University have come up with an innovative method for non-invasive diagnosis of skin diseases and disorders without the need for healthcare professionals or a medical clinic.

This study is considered the first of its kind. The innovative method of the two researchers from the Arab American University, Dr. Amani Owda, Head of the Department of Engineering, Natural, and Technological Sciences at the Faculty of Graduate Studies, and co-researcher Dr. Majdi Owda, Dean of Faculty of Data Science, is based on diagnosis by measuring millimeter waves that emerge from human skin and produce invisible signatures that contribute to inferring the health of the skin.
