Biography:
Osama Omari was born in Palestine, in the area of Jenin city. After he finished his high school study, he joined Birzeit University / Palestine in which he graduated as an electrical engineer with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995. Afterwards, he worked in an electrical distribution utility until he got a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) to continue his study in Paderborn University / Germany in 1999. In August 2000 he started working on his Master Thesis entitled “Peak-Load Shaving by Decentralized Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Systems” in the laboratory for Energy Supply. After getting his Master degree in Electronic System and Engineering Management through the joint program between the University of Bolton / UK and Paderborn University (Division Soest), in April 2001 he continued his work in the laboratory for Energy Supply as a scientific researcher in the context of projects donated by the Ministry of Research and Science in North Rhine Westphalia / Germany. Meanwhile, he joined the PhD program offered by the University of Bolton and the University of Applied Sciences South Westphalia (Division Soest) through a research subject entitled “Conceptual Development of a General Supply Philosophy for Isolated Electrical Power Systems”. In April 2005, Mr. Osama was awarded the PhD degree by the University of Bolton / UK. In June 2005, Dr. Omari joined the Arab American University / Palestine (AAUP) as a part-timer. In September of the same year he became a full-time assistant professor at the Faculty of Information Technology at AAUP. During his work at AAUP, Dr. Osama occupied several positions, among which are The Dean of the Engineering Faculty, The Head of Telecommunications Engineering Department, and The head of Electrical Engineering and Renewable Energy Department. Dr. Omari is still working at AAUP.
