The Arab American University Holds a Ramadan Iftar at the Nursing for Seniors Home Association in Jenin

The Arab American University has held a Ramadan Iftar banquet in honor of the Nursing for Seniors Home Association with the presence of Dr. Laila Herzallah, Assistant to AAUP President for Community Affairs, representing the University, Mr. Osama Al Silawi, Director of the Association, a number of members of the administrative staff, employees of the Association, as well as a number of volunteering students.

During the Iftar banquet, Dr. Herzallah praised the role of the association’s management, which she described as great, in caring for the hosted elderly people, noting the progress the association has achieved over its recent years despite the difficult circumstances that the governorate is going through. The Arab American University Holds an Activity for People with Special Needs

The Office of the Assistant to the President for Community Affairs has held a rehabilitation activity and initial screening for people with special needs at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Tubas Governorate. The activity was held in cooperation with the Palestinian Pioneer Scouts and Guides Association.

The activity was inaugurated with a welcoming speech by Ms. Maha Salama, with the presence of Dr. Laila Herzallah, Assistant to the President for Community Affairs, Dr. Rima Daraghmeh, Chairman of the Association, Mr. Mohammad Jamil Sawalmeh, Vice President of the Palestinian Scouts Association, Joseph Lambros, a member of the administrative staff, Dr. Wafa Al Sa’adi as well as a number of families and specialists.

AAUP and the Ministry of Agriculture Implement an Agricultural Activity in the Area Surrounding the University

The Office of the Assistant to the President for Community Affairs at the Arab American University, in cooperation with the Directorate of Agriculture in Jenin, implemented an agricultural activity of planting olive seedlings in the area between the towns of Zababdeh and Raba. The activity was under the slogan “Prosperity and Sustainability”. It was implemented by a group of volunteering students from the University.

The Assistant to the President for Community Affairs, Dr. Laila Herzallah, confirmed that the University is always keen to enhance the culture of voluntary work among students. She added that the University aims to increase awareness of students’ role in assuming responsibility, promoting the values of teamwork, Palestinian identity, the culture of belonging to the land and preserving, beautifying and afforesting the environment. AAUP also seeks to have community partnership in serving the local community and helping farmers, she added.
