The event, which is organized annually, was held under the title: "Innovation, Impacts and Future Directions of Sustainable Universities". The workshop included the presentation of best practices applied by a number of international universities in the areas of sustainability in higher education institutions. 70 universities from 30 countries around the world participated in the event.

The delegation was received by Dr. Majdi Owda, holder of the UNESCO Chair in Data Science for Sustainable Development and Dean of the Faculty of Data Science, and Dr. Raed Shomali from the Department of Administrative and Financial Sciences at the Faculty of Graduate Studies. During the meeting, the two parties discussed the possibility of creating joint projects to develop and employ data science in various fields. They also discussed some of the challenges and obstacles facing some institutions in employing data science and devoting it to facilitate business and data access smoothly.

AAUP was represented by Dr. Muath Sabha, team leader, Dr. Amjad Ratrout, Dr. Nizam Diab, Dr. Ahmed Owais, Mr. Sami Awad, and Dr. Bashar Daraghmeh.

The participants discussed during the workshop their universities experiences regarding University Governance, and the workshop was accompanied by field visits to a number of facilities and centers of the University of Evora, including the Technological Center, the Faculty of Agriculture, and the Faculty of Ph.D, as they were able to explore the university’s experience in these fields.
