Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh is the minister for the Palestinian Economic Council for Development and Reconstruction (PECDAR), a former Minister of Public Works and Housing, Dr. Shtayyeh has a decorated career in Palestinian public service. He has previously headed the Palestinian Delegation to the Multilateral Talks on Regional Economic Cooperation and served as Secretary General of the Palestinian Central Elections Commission.
Dr. Shtayyeh was also president of the Palestinian Center for Regional Studies. He is the Governor for Palestine at the Islamic Development Bank – Saudi Arabia and at the Arab Planning Institute – Kuwait.
Dr. Shtayyeh received his Ph.D. in Development Studies from Sussex University in England. He published several books on the Palestine Israel struggle and the economic development of Palestine. He represented Palestine in many international conferences and forums as a Politician, Economist, and an academic.
