The Academician at the Arab American University, Dr. Saba Jarrar, representing the State of Palestine, has participated in the events of the First International Conference of the Arab Federation for Sports Culture. This conference was recently held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, titled Move Week. Dr. Jarrar was authorized by the President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports.
This international conference was held by the Arab Federation for Sports Culture under the auspices of the Egyptian Prime Minister. More than ten countries represented by a group of Arab youth and sports ministers, led by the President of the International Federation for Culture and Sports participated in the conference.
Dr. Jarrar also received the Arab Federation Award for Youth Initiatives, for the role of Palestinian athletes in Gaza and the West Bank in providing relief to the displaced since the beginning of the aggression against Gaza. The award was named after the martyr, “Hani Al Masdar,” the first deputy coach of the Olympic team, who was martyred after seventy days of work in the southern governorates of the Gaza Strip.
Dr. Jarrar's participated in the conference as a member of the Supreme Committee of the Conference, a key speaker in the third session on sports culture and its relationship to sustainable development. She also participated with many international experts in the courses organized on the sidelines of the international conference, including the Sports Diplomacy Course, Dealing with Crises, and the Course for Preparing a Sports Culture Specialist. These courses targeted the Arab and regional sports system over three days.
