A closed cooling system was designed at the Arab American University that works on reducing the air pressure and to make it close to the space air pressure.

The Arab American University announced about a designing of a cooling system in its labs, that is the first of its kind in Palestine. It works in evacuating the air and reducing the air pressure to reach under 10-7 mille bar and so to almost reach the air pressure in space. The temperature reaches minus 263 degree, where the electrons can be back to the equivalent orbits on temperature reaches zero Kelvin.
The system works by putting pressure on the Helium liquid with four kinds of laser radiations that are used in agitating the electrons at a low temperature. The system is provided by devices that are able to read the small streams that reach 10 Vemto Amber and that are connected to other devices that provide some waves with a frequency of 3 Gigahertz, and other devices that can read the wave’s power energy that are produced from a - 127 debm (nanowatt)
This system can reach the really low levels of temperature in a time period of less than two hours; it also can reserve temperature up to forty continuous hours. Through this system one can study the optical and the optoelectronic properties and the shades that are from Raman levels, and from the Ultraviolet to the Infrared.
Professor Mahmoud AbuMwais, the university president praised this great achievement that was after so many hours of researches and experiments of the distinguish staff of researchers and academics. He also said that the new system will contribute in giving Palestine a name in the scientific and international places, and the Thomson-ISI. In addition to that, this provided a good benefit science in electronics, telecommunications, physics, chemistry and other organic and non-organic sciences.

The cooling system was designed by the scientific research council team that contains Dr. Aátef Qasrawi and Dr. Hazim Khanfar by the support of the Palestinian scientific research council headed by the minister of the higher education ministry Dr. Khawla Al-Shakhsher. The costs of this project reached 470 thousand NIS and the Arab American University contributed in 220 thousand NIS of them and the rest was from the ministry.
