Dr. Iriqat, the Vice President for International Relations, welcomed the visiting delegation. She emphasized the importance of these young leaders meeting with master's students to exchange experiences among them. She gave a full explanation of the university and its establishment, and the most prominent academic programs in doctorate, masters and bachelor’s degrees that are taught in the university’s campus in the cities of Jenin and Ramallah.

She explained that the university, as part of its strategy, is keen to transfer the suffering of the educational sector to the world through its international relations. She added that this sector suffers from the occupation’s systematic policy of restricting academic freedom.

The ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway, Ms. Torin Vest, expressed her happiness to visit the Arab American University, hold a meeting with the Palestinians to hear their voice and benefit from their experiences, and transfer the Norwegian experiences to them. She noted that the presence of the delegation representing young leaders working in the Norwegian political parties in Palestine is to reveal the suffering of the people, especially in the educational sector and postgraduate studies in universities in terms of the obstacles caused by the occupation. She explained that the political parties in Norway are interested in the youth sector that have a major role in changing some policies and have a real influence and great weight with the Norwegian government.

The Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Dr. Nouar Qutob, presented the programs, especially those related to the political aspect, and stressed the importance of student exchange with universities, especially international ones, to introduce students to other different cultures.

After the reception, a meeting was held between the Norwegian young leaders and the master's students. The discussions reflected the Palestinian reality and the suffering of the people who have been suffering under occupation for more than seventy years. The students also sent messages to the Norwegian government and parliament, through the delegation, asking them to respect their legal and moral duties towards the rights of the Palestinian people. The students also listened to the experience of the young Norwegian leadership in terms of their influence on the Norwegian state's policies and their opinion of the Palestinian cause.
