An educational symposium “Internet – a dangerous reality and a free media world”

The deanship of the students’ affairs at the Arab American University organized an educational symposium under the name of “Internet – a dangerous reality and a free media world” in order to rise the students’ awareness to the dangerous of the social networks from a religious, health and security aspects.
Laila Herzallah- the social worker at the University started the symposium and indicated that the university always seeks to organize such a great educational courses and symposiums for its students. She also asserted that many risks come from the internet.
Shaikh Mohammad Salah- the security forces Mufti explained the religion’s point of view about using the web and the social network, and asserted that if this usage was for education, knowledge, knowing people and exchanging ideas that will be Halal, otherwise it is not.
Colonel Tayseer Azzam- the political guidance manager in Jenin clarified the risks and threats that might face people while using the internet and the social networks. He mentioned that over 1520000 Palestinians have accounts on Facebook and he gave advice to the students to be careful while using the social networks.
