A Statement from AAUP to the Public 09/12/2021

Arab American University mourns the soul of its son Muhran Khaliliyeh and sends its deepest condolences, sorrow and sympathy to his parents and family asking Allah to bless him with his mercy.

We continuously and with full responsibility follow the investigation process and we ask the responsible parties to put great penalties against those who are proven to be involved in this crime.

AAUP has decided the following:

1. All students who are involved in this shameful fight since last Thursday until the crime day, will be dismissed from the university for good and their names will be spread on all the Palestinian universities as per the Higher Education Council decision.
2. Security procedures inside the campus will be tightened, visitors will not be allowed inside the campus, and students must show their student ID at the gates. The outside boarders of the campus will be surrounded by the special security forces as well.
3. All student parties and their activities inside the campus will be frozen until further notice, and this was decided after coordination with the authorities.
4. Arab American University is working to provide all the needed security and safety procedures for students to continue their regular face-to-face education and classes inside the campus, and we will soon announce the procedures that we will follow to continue our regular campus life and education.
5. All staff will go back to their regular working hours and offices starting from Sunday 12 December 2021, and the practical training will continue starting from Saturday 11 December 2021.
6. Make sure that the medical center inside the campus will be open all days of the week during the working hours.
7. An ambulance from the Palestinian Red Crescent will be available inside the campus all days of the week from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm.

At the end, we really praise and appreciate the efforts that are put for the safety of this country and for the continuous of the education, and we ensure that Arab American University always supports its students and cares for the safety of them, and we stand with the family of our son Muhran until they get their rights.
