Professor AbuMwais commenced the first Applied Medical and Biological Sciences Conference that was organized under the cooperation between the University and the Ministry of Health. This conference aimed to develop knowledge in the Medical and Biological Sciences in order to serve the community by gathering the Palestinian researchers.
AbuMwais started the conference saying: “Education is way to resist against the enemies of the humanity who try to separate between people and filch trees and rocks”. He also added “this conference provides the chance to exchange opinions and medical information as the different competencies meet together and that will reduce the gap between the theoretical and the applied sciences”. AbuMwais also asserted on the importance of the medical and biological sciences conference, those sciences that are considered as the basic for all the medical professions. He clarified that since 2000, the university pays good attention to the Medical Faculties, starting from establishing the Faculty of Dentistry and the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences and developing them constantly. Moreover, Professor AbuMwais appreciated the efforts that the University do to expand the basic medical sciences by bringing in the academic specialized staff.
The representative of the Ministry of Health Dr. Salem Sbeihat praised the role that the Arab American University does which helped it in being a great educational edifice that all Palestinians are proud of. The University also has a hand in enhancing the health system in Palestine since lots of the medical graduates try to find jobs at the medial institutions at the country.
Dr. Mohammad Awad, the head of the organizing committee and the Scientific Research Dean, asserted that the University attach good attention to the Scientific Research. He said that the Deanship of the Scientific Research always encourages and supports the scientific researchers, publishes those researches at different scientific magazines to serve the community, participates at different international scientific conferences and funds each research project with 10,000 $.
