The Arab American University started weeding it court with artificial grass according to the FIFA specifications, and this was a preparation to the opening of the first stage of the sport village that contains a soccer stadium, a multi-purpose gym, an Olympic swimming pool and many different open courts.
The Assistant to the President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Mr. Faleh Abu Arrah said:” As we started weeding the court with 6cm artificial grass, we are entering the final stage in the soccer stadium and international court project. We are expecting its opening to be soon and thus to make this court as part of the University’s sport in particular, and the Palestinian sport in general”
Mr. Abu Arrah added that Dr. Yousef Asfour and the members of the board of directors decided to start a complete sport village at the University two years ago. This project was a self-financial project, and by that they are giving a great favor to the Palestinian youth and to Palestine..JPG)
Mr. Abu Arrah clarified that the court is the latest with the best classifications, as the diminutions are (100*70) and the ground will be covered with artificial grass with a high of 6cm. the stadium is prepared to receive masses of people with a suite for VIP guests. Also there is a lighting system that supports the TV portrayal, chambers to live TV and Radio broadcast and chambers to sport media workers..JPG)
The court is surrounded by a racetrack to be used o the local and international athletic games, and other facilities such as sport teams’ rooms, rooms for guests, offices, reception and meeting halls, WCs and locker rooms.
