Defense of a Doctoral Dissertation by Thanaa Daraghmeh in Educational Administration

Thanaa Daraghmeh, a Ph.D student in the Educational Administration program, defended her dissertation entitled: "The Relationship of Participatory Leadership to Administrative Empowerment and Job Satisfaction in Palestinian Higher Education Institutions as Perceived by Employees and Designing a Proposed Model to Enhance Their Performance".

The research aimed to reveal the degree of practicing participatory leadership in its various aspects, and its relationship to administrative empowerment and job satisfaction in Palestinian higher education institutions from the point of view of the employees. In addition, the research aimed to identify the differences between the averages of the respondents' opinions on the degree of practicing participatory leadership in achieving administrative empowerment and job satisfaction from the workers' point of view.

AAUP Holds a Training Workshop for Nurses on Using Ventilators

The Faculty of Graduate Studies at the Arab American University organized a workshop targeting nurses working in intensive care units at governmental hospitals and master’s students in nursing specialties at the University to train them on using the ventilator in an ideal way to prevent the development of complications for patients.

The workshop was moderated by Dr. Dina Abu Jaber, a specialist in the field of intensive care and artificial respiration. Dr. Abu Jaber introduced the students to the device, its operation, and the common errors that happen when using it.

AAUP Hosts the Director of Technology and Operations Department at Quds Bank in a Symposium Entitled: "Digital Transformation in the Banking Sector in Palestine"

The Faculty of Graduate Studies at the Arab American University in Ramallah hosted the director of Technology and Operations Department at Quds Bank, Mr. Zaid Jrab, to deliver a lecture on digital transformation in the banking sector in Palestine.

Mr. Jrab discussed the prospects, opportunities and challenges facing the banking sector in the digital transformation process, saying: "The importance of the digital transformation process in this sector lies in facilitating citizens' access to banking services, improving the operational process, completing banking transactions, and the payment and purchasing process quickly." A Painting by the Caricaturist Mohammad Sabaaneh is Displayed in the Corridors of the United Nations

In the corridors of the United Nations and on the seventy-fifth anniversary of the Nakba, a painting by the Palestinian caricaturist and artist Mohammad Sabaaneh, an instructor in the Department of Architecture and Design at the Arab American University, was displayed alongside the works of Palestinian artists Naji Al-Ali, Ismail Shammout, Tamam Al-Akhal, Nabil Anani and Suleiman Mansour.

On the painting, Sabaaneh said: "Months ago, I received an invitation from my friend Majed Bamieh to draw a painting that embodies the Nakba to be displayed at the United Nations. I chose to adapt the famous painting "Guernica" by the artist Pablo Picasso in protest against the German bombarding of Spain, which has become a symbol of war and peace. He added, "I tried to embody the ongoing Palestinian Nakba through digital drawing, and used the blue-gray color to denote the Israeli occupation."

Defense of A Doctoral Dissertation by Mirvat Abu Asab in Educational Administration

The Ph.D. student Mirvat Abu Asab defended her dissertation titled: "The Impact of the Israelization of Educational Curricula on the National Identity of Secondary School Students in East Jerusalem from the Teachers' Perspective and Their Role in Developing Methods to Strengthen It".

The study aimed to investigate the impact of the Israelization of educational curricula on the national identity of secondary school students in East Jerusalem from the teachers’ point of view and their role in developing ways to enhance it. The sample consisted of (255) male and female teachers of social studies, Arabic language, and Islamic education in secondary schools in East Jerusalem, and (12) male and female teachers were interviewed by the focus group method, who were chosen by the purposive technique.

On the Occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba, AAUP Students Participate in the First Palestinian Comics Exhibition Entitled "Amara 48"

Three students from the Arab American University participated with their drawings in the first Palestinian comics exhibition, entitled "Tahrir Street - Amara 48", which was organized by Ramallah Municipality, at Ramallah Museum, as an initiative of Palestinian artists to commemorate the 75th Palestinian Nakba.

The exhibition consists of several sections, in which 17 Palestinian artists displayed their drawings, in addition to a number of international artists on the path of comic art, which is considered the first of its kind in Palestine. The comic art is telling stories that simulate the Nakba through drawings to convey a message to the world about what the Palestinians have been suffering for seventy-five years. This memory is still engraved in their hearts and minds, and passed on through generations.

AAUP and Shenandoah University Develop a Joint Program in Virtual Reality Sciences

A delegation from the Arab American University visited Shenandoah University in Virginia - USA with the aim of enhancing the collaborative efforts of the two universities and strengthening the international partnership. The delegation included the Vice President for Medical Faculties Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Asia, the Director of E-Learning at the University, Dr. Ahmad Ewais, the Dean of the Faculty of Data Science, Dr. Majdi Owda, the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Dr. Lobna Harazi, Associate Professor in the Faculty of Nursing, Dr.

In several meetings, the two parties discussed research in the development of curricula, research and administrative activities, learning and training in developing multiple skills in the nursing specialization, as well as touring the university's facilities such as anatomy laboratories, nursing laboratories among others. In addition, the two parties discussed opening new horizons of cooperation in establishing academic programs’ collaboration between the two universities in Virtual reality sciences by the beginning of next year.

"Oracle International" Confirms Participation in the First International Conference on Digital Transformation Held by AAUP

Oracle International, one of the leading and most important information technology companies in the world, announced its participation in the first international conference on digital transformation, which is being held by the Arab American University in Ramallah.

The international conference will be held under the slogan: "Empowering Digital Future" under the auspices of His Excellency the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, on June 20.

The participation of Oracle International, which was founded in 1977 by Larry Ellison, is an important occurrence in Palestine in light of the nature of its specialized work, and its possession of a large number of customer service centers in more than 145 countries, including sectors related to the Palestinian technological and digital market.
