AAUP Projects two Films to its Students that Reflect the Reality of Education and Health Sector in Palestine

The Deanship of Student Affairs in Arab American University organized the projection of two films produced by Ashtar Theater that addresses the reality of education and health sectors in Palestine. A discussion was also raised with audiences about the two films.

Mr. Luay Tafish- the Cultural and Artistic Department employee in the Deanship of Student Affairs said that the first film called “Mtawla Al Qessa” (Will it be a long story) that discusses the health sector crises and challenges, while the second film called “Madraset Al Rawa’ee” (School of Wonders) addresses the education sector and the modern and traditional methods, the differences and the challenges.

AAUP Organizes a Workshop about the Empowerment of Women and Local Development

Under joint collaboration between Arab American University, the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Deanship of Student Affairs in Arab American University organized a training workshop about Empowering women to participate in the Student Council Elections in universities.

The audience stressed the importance for women to participate in the elections in order to develop the student’s women movement in universities.

Speakers in this workshop explained that these activities are part of the series of project World 3 that is planned in 13 universities to encourage students to participate in the extracurricular activities and enable them to compete in the elections of the student union council.

The Ministry of Woman Affairs and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Honors AAUP for Participating in the Young Leadership Program

Funded by Cyprus Representative Office, the Ministry Woman Affairs and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Honored Arab American University and the participated universities at the first stage of the young leadership program that aims to prepare young female leaders who are capable of making decisions and leading formal and informal organizations in the future.  

Dr. Amal Hamad- the Minister of the Ministry Woman Affairs, Prof. Mahmoud Abu Mwais- the Minister of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research attended the honoring remotely, along with Dr. Demetrios Aus- the Head of the Representative Office of Cyprus, Dr. Raid Dubee- Representing the Higher Education Institutions and the university female students who got qualified to the next stage of the program. Mr. Bilal Al Ashqar- the Head of the Graduates Affairs in AAUP represented the university in this ceremony.
