Educational Administration

Overview

The objective of the Bachelor of Educational Administration program is to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to work in the fields of school administration, educational supervision, and leadership of Palestinian and international educational institutions.

The vision of the program is to be a distinguished program at the national level, and for its graduates to be able to compete in the Palestinian educational labor market, and to “create distinguished educational leaders who are capable of leading the education sector towards a sustainable future.”

The Vision of the Program Focuses on the Following Points:

  • Excellence: The program seeks to create educational leaders with a high level of competence and ability.
  • Leadership: The program focuses on preparing educational leaders who have the ability to make decisions and lead others.
  • Education: The program seeks to create educational leaders who are capable of contributing to the development of Palestinian, Arab and international education, facing challenges and keeping pace with developments.
  • The Future: The program focuses on preparing educational leaders who are capable of leading Palestinian education into the future.

 

Goals

This program aims to achieve the following objectives:

  1. Professional Preparation: The program aims to prepare highly qualified educational staff with research, theoretical and leadership capabilities.
  2. Providing Educational Leaders: The program aims to provide educational leaders with high potential and capabilities in improving and developing teaching and learning, educational planning and supervision, and evaluating educational results and programs.
  3. Strengthening Commitment to Diversity: The program aims to strengthen commitment to diversity, social justice, and sound democratic citizenship among faculty, staff and students.
  4. Strengthening Cooperation: The program aims to enhance cooperation and develop relationships with various educational and professional institutions that focus on improving and developing education in schools and local communities.
  5. Maintaining a Supportive Surrounding Environment: The program aims to maintain a supportive organizational environment in all components and facilities of the Faculty of Educational Sciences and other workplaces at the University.
  6. Enhancing Productivity, Efficiency and Effectiveness: The program aims to enhance the productivity, effectiveness and efficiency of the administration of the Faculty of Educational Sciences.

 

STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOME

Graduates of this program are expected to have the following outcomes:

  • Knowledge and Understanding: Graduates of this program possess the knowledge and understanding necessary to practice the profession of educational administration efficiently.
  • Applied Skills: Graduates of this program possess the applied skills necessary to solve educational problems and make administrative decisions.

  • Cooperation Skills: Graduates of the program have skills in cooperation and building relationships with others.
  • Ability to Learn Continuously: Graduates of this program have the ability to continuously learn and adapt to changes in the field of educational administration.

 

Teaching and Learning

This program offers a set of courses that focus on preparing the student as a researcher, providing the student with theoretical knowledge in educational administration, and providing opportunities for applied group practice and learning.

This can be classified as follows:

  1. Preparing the student as a researcher: Students learn to use statistical programs, design research, and build research plans related to their specialization.
  2. Providing the student with theoretical knowledge: The administration theory in addition to theoretical knowledge in educational administration is provided to students.
  3. Providing opportunities for practice and applied group learning: The student has the opportunity to practice and learn collectively by providing a learning environment through e-learning and applied learning.

 

Evaluation Methods

The program assessment methods are diverse and include a wide range of skills and abilities, which contributes to a comprehensive assessment of students’ performance. They also give students the opportunity to participate in the assessment process, which enhances self-responsibility and continuous learning. The methods of assessment include:

  • Projects: Projects focus on applying the knowledge and skills that students acquire during the educational learning process.
  • Presentations: Presentations Focus on communication skills and presenting students’ ideas.
  • Seminars, dialogues and discussions: These focus on analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Theoretical tests: theoretical tests focus on measuring students’ knowledge and understanding.
  • Practical tests: Practical tests focus on measuring students’ mastery of practical skills.
  • Action research: this focuses on research and problem-solving skills.
  • Electronic achievement portfolios: these focus on measuring self-learning.

Graduates of the Bachelor of Educational Administration program get hired to work in the following fields:

  1. Educational institutions (schools, institutes, intermediate colleges) with administrative positions.
  2. In the ministries concerned with education in Palestine.
  3. Private and non-profit institutions.
