The My e-Government program was launched at the Arab American University by holding its first workshop, organized by Hassib Sabbagh IT Center of Excellence in cooperation with the Palestinian Post. The launch of this program is based on the strategic relationship between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and AAUP under the slogan "Jerusalem, the Digital Capital 2023".
The e-government services system "E-Services - Hukumati" is an electronic portal for governmental and electronic payment services. This portal enables to request governmental services and pay their fees electronically in a secure manner, which would save time and effort for citizens to obtain the service.
The workshop was attended by the Director of Jenin Post, Muhammad Al-Ahmad and his accompanying delegation. They were received by the Director of Hassib Sabbagh IT Center of Excellence, Dr. Mays Awwad, and the Dean of the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences, Dr. Mohammad Abusharbeh, and a number of faculty staff and students as well as volunteers of Hassib Sabbagh IT Center of Excellence.
Dr. Awwad welcomed the delegation of the Palestinian Post, and expressed full readiness to support the success of the activities related to Hukumati system and make a partnership to organize future sessions.
In turn, Al-Ahmad appreciated, after conveying the greetings of His Excellency the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Isaac Seder, the efforts made by the University, stressing that the workshop is considered an introduction to future workshops to be held at AAUP by the Jenin post office staff to help register in the application and benefit from the available government services via the application.
Dr. Abusharbeh emphasized the importance and necessity of holding these introductory workshops on postal services and the My e-Government program to introduce academics, administrators, university students, and community members to the development of services provided through the Palestinian Post and Hukumati system.
The Palestinian Post delegation provided a detailed explanation with an explanatory video about postal services, postal coding, Hukumati system, and the importance of using them by students in particular and citizens in general.
