The audience stressed the importance for women to participate in the elections in order to develop the student’s women movement in universities.

Speakers in this workshop explained that these activities are part of the series of project World 3 that is planned in 13 universities to encourage students to participate in the extracurricular activities and enable them to compete in the elections of the student union council.

Dr. Atyeh- the Director of the Continuing Education Center in Arab American University explained that this renewal comes after the success that the center witnessed in the courses that held previously, and said that those courses prepare participants to obtain internationally certified training certificates that are certified by more than 14 global bodies, and that such courses target university students, school students and the local community in general.

In the opening session, Mr. Sudqi Mousa- Tawasol Project Coordinator in AAUP welcomed the participants and praised the role that PYALARA does in activating the youth role in the society.

Dr. Mosadaq Barahmeh- the Dean of the Faculty of Arts in AAUP emphasized on the importance of such courses and workshops, and asked students to participate as this will benefit them in blending in the labor market, and thus be distinguish and this is what Arab American University aspires that its students will be.

In his opening speech for the “The Age of Populism” Conference, Prof. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri- the University President talked about the importance of populism especially “under the global decline of traditional democratic political forces” and he said that this conference “comes in line with AAUP’s philosophy and its future vision that is based on positive interaction with research developments in the social and natural sciences”.
