Digital Transformation Policy

Goal

AAUP recognizes the transformative power of digital technologies in enhancing teaching, learning, research, and administrative processes. This policy outlines AAUP’s commitment to embracing digital transformation to create an agile, innovative, and technology-driven university community. By harnessing the potential of digital technologies, AAUP aims to enhance the quality of education, improve operational efficiency, foster collaboration, and provide seamless digital experiences for students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders.

Policy Statement

AAUP is dedicated to the following principles and standards of digital transformation:

  1. Digital Infrastructure and Systems:
    • AAUP establishes robust and secure digital infrastructure, networks, and systems that support reliable and high-speed connectivity, ensuring seamless access to digital resources and services.
    • AAUP prioritizes the adoption of cloud computing, virtualization, and other scalable technologies to enhance agility, flexibility, and scalability..

Implementation and Compliance

To ensure the effective implementation of this Code of Ethics Policy, AAUP will:

  1. Establish the digital transformation team to lead and oversee the implementation, communication, and monitoring of this policy.
     
  2. Develop a digital transformation strategy and roadmap aligned with the university's vision, goals, and stakeholder expectations.
     
  3. Establish governance structures, committees, or task forces to guide and monitor digital transformation initiatives, ensuring coordination, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
     
  4. Provide training and professional development opportunities to build digital skills and competencies among faculty, staff, and administrators.
     
  5. Regularly evaluate and assess the impact and effectiveness of digital transformation initiatives, seeking feedback from stakeholders and making necessary adjustments.
     

Measures

The following measures (indicators) can be used to assess the utilization of this policy:

  1. Digital Adoption Rate: Percentage of university operations and processes successfully transitioned to digital platforms.
     
  2. Technology Training Participation: Percentage of faculty, staff, and students who have participated in technology training programs.
     
  3. Digital Engagement: Number of active users or interactions on digital platforms (e.g., learning management system (LMS), university portal, online resources).
     
  4. Technology Integration: the number of innovative technologies integrated into teaching, research, and administrative functions.
     
  5. Data Security and Privacy Compliance: Number of data breaches or privacy incidents and the average time taken to resolve them.
