Students from the Faculty of Medicine Are to Receive Training at the British Universities of Oxford and Dundee

Almost 40 male and female students from the Faculty of Medicine at the Arab American University will spend the summer period in two prestigious universities in the United Kingdom, University of Oxford and University of Dundee, to be trained in the latest clinical skills as well as skills of communication with patients.

The Faculty Dean, Dr. Malik Zaben, stressed that this training course is the first of its kind, through which this number of students is sent with the aim of opening horizons of knowledge for students and opportunities for graduates of the Faculty of Medicine to get acquainted with the British medical system. Dr. Zaben also said that this training aims to establish networking, which paves the way for students to specialize in Britain after graduation easily and confirmed that it will be held annually and expanded to include other universities in Britain and other countries.

The Deanship of Student Affairs Organizes a Field Visit to the Police Directorate - Drug Control Department and the Customs Police Department

The Deanship of Student Affairs, represented by the Social and Psychological Counseling Department, in cooperation with the Police Directorate and the Customs Police Department, organized a field visit to the Police Directorate and the Anti-Narcotics Department, to learn about the nature of work, the procedures followed and how to destroy the seized banned stuff in order to raise the level of awareness and knowledge among students in protecting themselves and the society.

The delegation, which was accompanied by Dr. Laila Harzallah from the University, received Major Adel Al-Aissa, the branch director, and Major Malik Abed, the deputy director of the branch. All the departments in the directorate were visited, and a detailed explanation was presented to the students by the police personnel about the nature of the departments' work in protecting the society.

AAUP and Augusta Victoria Hospital - Al-Mutalaa Sign a Cooperation Agreement to Train Medical Students

The Arab American University, represented by the Vice President for Medical Faculties Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Asia, and the Augusta Victoria Hospital - Al-Mutala', represented by the Executive Director Dr. Fadi Al-Atrash, signed a cooperation agreement to train students of the Faculty of Medicine at the university in its two campuses in Jenin and Ramallah.

The signing took place with the presence of the Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Eng. Bara Asfour, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Malik Zaben, the Director of Communication and Public Relations, Ms. Nadine Siam, and from the hospital, the Director of Operations, Ms. Badia Bagali, and the Media and Public Relations Officer, Ms. Izdhar Shaheen.

AAUP Hosts the International Trainer Dr. Monther Al-Haram in a Training Workshop for Students on Human Development

The Arab American University hosted the international trainer, Dr. Monther Al-Haram, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Victoria Academy for Consulting and Training in Britain, in a two-day training workshop on human development, targeting university students. The workshop was organized in cooperation with the Ambassadors for Global Development Organization.

Dr. Monther Al-Haram, of Libyan origin, holds British citizenship, is an international trainer accredited by several international institutions, resides in Britain, and holds many positions, including head of the Arab and Islamic community in Nottingham, chairman of the Victorian Academy for Consulting and Training in Britain, and a member of the Academy’s board of directors of Ambassadors of global development for training and development. He trained in 48 countries.

AAUP Commemorates the 75th Anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba with Various Activities

The Arab American University commemorated the 75th anniversary of the Nakba with various activities, starting with a political symposium, and interspersed with a solidarity stand, a speech festival, a photo exhibition, and Palestinian flag half-mast.

The activities were attended by the member of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Dr. Wasel Abu Yousef, the governor of Jenin Governorate, Major General Akram Rjoub, the representative of the university president and vice president for academic affairs, Dr. Muayad Abusaa, vice-presidents and assistants, deans of faculties, members of the academic and administrative staff, students, and the student council.

Defense of A Doctoral Dissertation by Mirvat Abu Asab in Educational Administration

The Ph.D. student Mirvat Abu Asab defended her dissertation titled: "The Impact of the Israelization of Educational Curricula on the National Identity of Secondary School Students in East Jerusalem from the Teachers' Perspective and Their Role in Developing Methods to Strengthen It".

The study aimed to investigate the impact of the Israelization of educational curricula on the national identity of secondary school students in East Jerusalem from the teachers’ point of view and their role in developing ways to enhance it. The sample consisted of (255) male and female teachers of social studies, Arabic language, and Islamic education in secondary schools in East Jerusalem, and (12) male and female teachers were interviewed by the focus group method, who were chosen by the purposive technique.

AAUP Wins Three Top Places in the Palestinian Universities Championship for Karate and Taekwondo

The Arab American University hosted the activities of the Palestinian Union to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Nakba, under the auspices of the Palestinian Olympic Committee and the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Three players from the university won the first place in the Taekwondo Championship for males weighing 80 kg, by the player Jaafar Al-Aqraa, and the Karate Championship for male players weighing 60 kg for the student Salim Sarsak, and for the category of male players weighing 84 kg by the student Anas Bisharat, and the player Hammam Jaber won the third place in the youth team category, weight 84+ kg.

AAUP Organizes a Workshop on the Reality of Tax in Palestine for Accounting Department Students

The Accounting Department at the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences at the Arab American University organized a workshop entitled "The Reality of Tax in Palestine", targeting students of the Accounting Department and a number of students in other disciplines in the Faculty.

With the presence of Dr. Salah Bani Odeh, Director of the Value Added Tax Department, Mr. Louay Abu Harb, Assistant Director of the Value Added Tax Department, Mr. Jihad Amour, Director of the Income Tax Department, Mr. Mohamed Youssef, Director of the Property Tax Department, and a number of experienced auditors.

AAUP and the Civil Defense of Jenin Hold a Workshop on Natural Disasters and Crisis Management

The Continuing Education Center at the Arab American University, in cooperation with the Civil Defense in Jenin, organized a workshop for university staff and students entitled "Natural Disasters and Crisis Management", with the aim of educating the public about crisis management mechanisms in cases of earthquakes.

In his turn, the Director of the Continuing Education Center at the University, Dr. Khaled Attiah, welcomed the attendees, and stressed the importance of the workshop, which has several objectives, most notably, educating employees and students on crisis management mechanisms in the event of earthquakes as Palestine is vulnerable to the occurrence of this natural disaster at any time.

On the Occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba, AAUP Students Participate in the First Palestinian Comics Exhibition Entitled "Amara 48"

Three students from the Arab American University participated with their drawings in the first Palestinian comics exhibition, entitled "Tahrir Street - Amara 48", which was organized by Ramallah Municipality, at Ramallah Museum, as an initiative of Palestinian artists to commemorate the 75th Palestinian Nakba.

The exhibition consists of several sections, in which 17 Palestinian artists displayed their drawings, in addition to a number of international artists on the path of comic art, which is considered the first of its kind in Palestine. The comic art is telling stories that simulate the Nakba through drawings to convey a message to the world about what the Palestinians have been suffering for seventy-five years. This memory is still engraved in their hearts and minds, and passed on through generations.
