Responsible Consumption and Production

SDG12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns

AAUP Waste Management Policy

AAUP is committed to responsible waste management practices that prioritize environmental sustainability, health, and safety. This policy outlines AAUP’s dedication to minimizing waste generation, promoting recycling and reuse, ensuring proper disposal, and complying with all relevant regulations. By adhering to this policy, AAUP aims to reduce its environmental impact, protect human health, and contribute to a more sustainable future.

There is a careful separation of food waste and plastic waste in the university. Moreover, the University provides several paper shreds to separate paper. In addition to that, the university has several practices to reduce paper use. Regarding medical waste, the University collects medical waste that comes mostly from the College of Dentistry and the labs in a special container. Moreover, organic and nonorganic waste are disposed after they are collected through burial.

BSc program in Environmental Management and Recycling

This program equips students with the necessary skills to manage, identify, and respond to waste-related issues and reduce them. By focusing on sustainability and through advanced pathways to identify waste on local, national, and global levels, this program provides students with practical solutions and essential policies to integrate environmentally related roles in managerial, scientific, and engineering fields.
